Nous Non Plus "Paris" Banned by Youtube
My video for Nous Non Plus has been banned by Youtube. I guess it's too nasty. Funny. I thought the Army nightvision video of an Iraqi farmer humping a donkey I saw on Youtube was nastier. I guess it's a matter of taste.

soon to be banned from antville too!
this is shit about shit made by shit
I'm always amazed when someone posts a comment like the above. Knowing that the person themselves posted this, are going to read the comments, why would anyone be so hateful? Coupled with the cowardice of hiding behind the anonymity of the internet just make it so much the worse.
I'm not crazy about the video, either, and I kind of think that the post about being banned by youtube might be much ado about not much, but calling someone shit is inhumane and does yourself more disservice that you may be aware.
I made the post to show that Youtube had blocked a rather tame music video. Just giving a heads up to other video makers about what Youtube may find offensive and ban. As far as being shit. It is for some people. For others not. No big deal. I did receive a reel request from a high profile creative agency based on their enjoyment of the video in question. It's easing the "pain" of the shit comment.
"a high profile creative agency"
riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...
i don't believe for a second this was "banned."
There was no nudity!
I've seen lots of nudity on youtube; I think the only thing they'll pull is penetration shots.
Yes it was flagged for obscenity and removed by Youtube despite the lack of nudity or penetration. It seemed unfair to me. That's why I posted the links to the blog coverage. The actual complaint to Youtube from the person objecting to it was that the singer was "fucking ugly". I protested that this was not a valid reason for a ban. The ban remained in force. The bands Youtube posting of it was taken down as well. Was the blog coverage an attempt to get some mileage out of it. Sure. Still, I felt the ban would be of some interest to other video makers that use Youtube.
Yes. A high profile creative. I was surprised by it too. So I understand your incredulity.
one word: repost. #hears sound of agents scraping barrels#
Def some repost action involved. Guilty. I thought it was worth the risk to get the word out on Youtube's strange action. Barrel scraping? Could be.
