Cold War Kids - Hair Down directed by Josh Forbes

Sure, it wasn't made by the Malloys and isn't a movie trailer parody, but I still think it holds up as a performance piece. Plus it makes use of one of the band's strongest assets, bassist Matt Maust's badass graphic design-ness. COLD WAR KIDS - HAIR DOWN
thats rather nice. really like the timing of the random imagery, some fleeting graphics, some lingering, super stylish.
good graphic choice - felt like some cool cd booklet - in motion! bonus vids for y'all: vincent moon's take away shows with the cowakids.
Brilliant simplicity. Using minimal visual themes like a split screen and practical graphics really offsets the unusual style and structure of the song and brings them together in one nice little package. And besides, a straight forward performance video filmed in a small little playing space fits the band's 'banging on a tin can' image much more than the black and white slickness of a French new wave parody pseudo trailer. It's my favorite of the two current Cold War Kids videos.
the splitscreen is a good call here – the individual performance shots would probably seem tedious on their own but having the constantly shifting relationships keeps it lively, and I always like seeing big type. I like having the color temperature change, and the footage feels rich
I love those Blogotheque.net videos. There's one with Grizzly Bear that's amazing. I'm surprised more of them don't pop up here at Antville.
vincent m (aka mathieu saura) is a genius in this niche he's invented. also: he's currently finishing off a full-length movie with the national...
Damn French are too cool.
does the song justice.
