This is a really curious video. Mega-Producer Scott Storch has a beef with Timbaland so recorded a dis track. He's not really a rapper and it's a pretty corny song.

But then, he and his friend Raul went out and shot a camcorder music video which presumably takes place at Scott Storch's real mansion and with his actual cars.

Scott Storch makes probably $100K for each track he produces but managed to shoot a music video that makes him look like a rich 9th grader flossin' in front of his Dad's cars and mansion.

I can just imagine Timbaland seeing this and falling over laughing.

         

For the record here's Timbaland's video which started this whole thing. It's also incredibly low-rent especially considering that it's supposed to be the lead single off of his new solo album, but Tim gets bonus points for putting Nelly Furtado on-screen. Anyways the whole beef is pretty ridiculous but I hope it keeps going just for my own amusement.

As a sidenote here's an interesting video for the Cam'ron 50 Cent beef. It's a parody done by some fan that, incidentally is way better than anything 50 or Cam have made so far. If Storch or Timbaland want to make an impression they should actually do something creative like this instead of making lame diss tracks that prove how horrible they are at rapping.

         

hey, that Timbo track is pretty good! At least in that video, it's under the guise of a 'behind-the-scenes' tour video - not like Scott Storch's, which is obviously trying to emulate slick big-budget rap videos.

In both these cases - why didn't they spring a couple grand and shoot 16mm? Or some prosumer HD. Surely they wouldn't have problem finding a resourceful film student who would die to work w/ these guys.

         

p.s. JT is dissing on Prince in his verse of the Timbaland track. Prince said in an interview something along the lines of "He's not bringing sexy back because sexy never left." Hence JT's beef. My personal opinion is that these videos both make the artists look childish and petty (both in lyrics and production value).

I guess it goes to show that no one likes to hear producers dis each other? They can already make their voices heard in their beats, and Tim kills, as usual.

Love JT, but dissing Prince is silly.

justin timberlake's verse is supposedly about janet jackson and not prince. the fact that he says, 'i saw you tryin to act cute on tv' probably supports the janet argument vs. the prince argument.. :)
