New White Stripes Video - "Icky Thump" dir. Malloy Brothers

i like it- just as I liked their last White Stripes video. Still - I feel like the minimal sound and "non-lyrics" of the White Stripes work best as trick videos - the Gondry ones, "7 Nation Army", etc. Like, I would imagine directors would tend to stay away from story based videos with them.
Mmm, hunting down the sister/wife in a brothel is sexy time, for sure! But isn't Oedipus the one that goes blind? Good clip for the track. Cranking guitar hook. The visuals are right down the middle for this band. I DID kind of feel this was a trick video.
The Malloys outdo themselves again.
Loved the subtitles.
mov from video-c
The wisp of a story is a nice counter to the succinctly energetic performance edits.

Really not into this one...
hmm, I was expecting alot more from this, I love the song and with such a big sounding record I wanted to see more than perfomance with a narrative.
yeah but it was fine
Decidedly unremarkable, dull almost. From such great heights to such average mediums. Nicely done, yeah yeah yeah, but as good as the song? Shame really.
Agree with the 3 above. Wicked track, average video. When you get the chance to work with a corker don't f**k it up, make a killer vid. Don't think the Malloys have done themselves justice here.
much as i loved malloys+whitestripes 1.0, this just seems lost with respect to the singular energy of this track.
I'm just impressed the band has stuck with their motif so long... Most bands would have said the red and white thing was over, time for a new look. Not these guys! Keep it up.
f***** great - and now also on their homepage: www.whitestripes.com
Co-directed by Jack White.
couldnt get through 20seconds of this. Lets see formula one 'band performing and looking cool intercut with some 'other' stuff = music video'.
ugly.
I just wanted to see more of meg with her new hair-do... Nice night exterior stuff I thought. Generally a great job.
