Air Traffic, 'Shooting Star' (Dir: Terri Timely)

more beautiful work from the berkeley boys. c-rock notes: "The camera tech couldn't make it so Ian and I had to do ourselves. It was a very painful experience that involved little sleep."
which sounds like pretty much every experience i've heard about with the phantom.

excellent. Another great piece from these guys. Love it.
Where's the Plot? ...just let things fly up and down 'cause that looks cool?!
i'm not sure that a 'Plot' is a requirement for a music video, but i think there's a little more to this than 'looking cool'. the juxtaposition of slow ups, reversed gravity on the narrative and fast downs on the performance is lovely. find a story in that, sherlock.
plot? who cares? this one is a weiner!
A 'Plot' is not a requirement for a music videos. i also like classic perfomance videos. But this video looks like it has something to say... with the man and the woman.
I also like videos that creates athmosphere. thats okay.
sorry. i can't realy explain whats my probklem with this video. (i'm tired and from germany - that could be a reason for some missing english explanation words ;)
nice. but surely that greg crewdson book is looking a bit dog eared now?
Thanks for the Crewdson ref. I just drove through a few towns today along the Ohio River that look like his Beneath the Roses photos (from MA and VT, apparently). (one town was Gallipolis, OH, pop. 4,100)
I agree, nice work, but just a little bit caught in a groove the last couple of videos.
nice! love that first shot
Being a fan of high-speed photography, I love it...Having a good track is 50% of a good video, fortunately for Air Traffic the Terri Timely boys brought the other 50% plus some.

Works better for me.
"which sounds like pretty much every experience i've heard about with the phantom"
Really? Anyone in the UK who has used Green Door Films - www.greendoorfilms.co.uk - would probably strongly disagree with you.
I have no business affiliation or endorsement agreement with Green Door Films, standard disclaimer, blah, blah, blah....
nice work - great coloring.
i thought it was well realised, for prob not much cash. like the edit too.
oysters - i'm sure those guys rule, but regardless it's a very different experience from shooting tape or p2. I guess if you're used to it and come prepared, it's not so bad - but the massive amount of downtime on set while waiting for camera downloads is a bit of a bummer. especially at four in the morning.
nice lighting... terrible telecine...
"terrible telecine"...I don't know, I dig the grain. I like this video as well. Not sure what the director's trying to say really, but I'm in to it.
If it was shot on a Phantom, then there wasn't any telecine.
Grain might be due to under exposure pushed in post.
i agree, the image seems to suffer from the grade. if it was phantom then there would be no grain, just noise. Noticed it in some of their previous work too. May just be compression issue? who knows, who cares? nice little video though!
beeeotiful.
A well crafted addition to the recently popular Super-Slow-Mo-Things-Flying-Through-The-Air Genre.
A bit of a cross between a couple of Ramon Bloomberg vids with a little power piano pop performance anxiety.
Not bad at all.
