Common "The People" dir. Neon

In the streets of Chi (update: and Brooklyn)
The Game 10 years hence
hiphop is dead and nowadays even common is boring. following that the video is kinda retro. (is the world which is showed & described in this video really existing? surely this is not the question to judge a video but videos like this seem to me a bit corny)
erin sez it ain't...
I was thinking about that after I watched this too, spreech. I think it's just a slow summer. Kelefa Sanneh is saying something similar in relation to T.I. Pitchfork said the same thing about electronic music. Heck, you could say that about music video in the past month based on June's output, but that would be ignoring April.
I was also thinking that this is the pre-YouTube Common. His next stuff better start talking about technology or something, er, relevant.
Neon's John Legend video is pretty cool. This one is too, actually, I think it's good.
It's cool to watch a bit of life-affirming (and retro-looking) hip-hop for a change. Bitches, bling and guns rubbish is as dead as it is trite, I hope.
D.
breath of fresh air...common seems to get it.
this is beautiful. and it's a sick track.
spreech: Ludacris is on Live Earth right now, and it's one of the most hip-hop things I've seen in a while. Awesome.
(If anyone out there cares, it's being hosted by two former MTV VJs: Dave Holmes and... Duff?!?!)
Just great. Video fits the song perfectly for me. Kanye was working with gold when he sampled Gil.
