Don't mean to be the guy that points out the video precedent, but this video immediately brought this to mind, by Swedes JagOchLinus + Lars for The Ark in 2004. Just not pushing the concept anywhere new I guess. Btw let me just add that JagOchLinus aka RBG6 are incredibly awesome designers and make some very lovely music vids as a bonus.
