Thom Yorke "The Clock" (dir: Alejandro Vesga)

This one is my entry on the D&AD contest. Didn't win anything though. Comments and/or questions are appreciated.
your links for student of the year and first prize should be swapped. from what i saw, the deserving film got the top prize.
poor loser..
I thought you had one really good idea - the crumpled papaer on the window looks like burning coals in b&w.
However, the action and editing don't have a natural rhythym either in or out of synch with the music (even allowing for the synching vagaries of You Tube). In fact it's the least rhythmically attentive video of the four posted - so be careful with comments like "IMHO, when you're gonna do something like this, the emphasis should be on the song's rhythm, but it fails to deliver that" which may come back to bite you.
Yeah you kind of screwed yourself over with your bitter little comments for the other videos.
Most of the video-makers I know share a camaraderie rather than a serious rivalry because its such a tough and farcical game to step into in the first place.
I liked the theory of the text one but then its sad when you seen 1 good idea ruined when you don't have a second good idea to make that first idea progress.
Repeat after me: Gondry says you must have two good ideas for every one video.
I know the comments make me look like a bad loser, but I just wanted to state my honest opinion. I can't pretend I like them just because I lost to them. frames, do you really think it's the less rhytmically attentive one? I tried to make some emphasis on the changes and the general feel of the song, but I guess it didn't come out like I hoped. Thanks for your input.
Oh, BTW, I'm not really a video director, just a fan of music videos and Radiohead. I just had the chance and the time and wanted to see if I was up to the task. It will probably be my first and last video.
Don't let any kind of comments on this website like this put you off.
If that was your first attempt let me assure you that it was a very good first attempt (better than my first video). Why not make more if you found it fun?
I wouldn't really call it fun. It was a hell of a lot of work, the camera was shitty, I had practically no money for the shoot, sending it was nerve-wracking, etc.
Nevertheless, I'm glad I did it. When I watch it there are bits that really stand out and bring a smile to my face. I'm a music video collector and making a serious music video was kind of a way to understand what really went into each of these things. But, it's not my day job, the camera and the editing program were borrowed, I don't have the money for my own, so I'm not anxious to start another one. Thanks for your support shatner.
