A forgotten classic - Garland Jeffreys: The Answer (1992, Dir: ?)
An absolutely stunning video by the highly underrated, yet extremely talented NY-based singer, this clip was on MTV rotation for a couple of months back in 1992, then disappeared. It took 15 years to surface again.

That was beautiful. I couldn't find the director, but I found a long-lost Anton Corbijn vid for Mr. Jeffreys.
Actually that ending makes me think Jim Blashfield was somehow involved.
Glad you've finally found it. Not sure about Kevin Godley anymore? Why? Corbijn's "Hail Hail Rock 'N' Roll" mov and Godley's "Sexuality" mov.
Hmm, was also thinking Godley - he digs black - but its lighting and camera work are a bit off for 92-era Godley.
Kevathens is right, I dropped the Godley option because of the lighting/camera work. I'm about to ask Mr. Jeffreys about the director, and will let you know the outcome.
I'd think Steve Barron if it was 1988.
