Wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of music videos which use subtitles... thinking more in terms of replacing dialogue within a narrative video rather than in a White Stripes 'Icky Thump' way... What are people's thoughts? Interesting or distracting?

         

I usually hate subtitles but for a classic example watch Everybody Hurts.

         

Two come to mind, She Wants Revenge's Tear You Apart and Yeah Yeah Yeah's Y Control.

         

Radiohead- Just.... i dont mind subtitles actually. if its necessary, use it

         

Including karaoke.. Most of these are good vids, so maybe subtitling is good? Fall on Me - though that gets into the whole let's-use-the-words thing (Subterranean Homesick Blues, Need You Tonight/Mediate, C+C Music Factory "Everybody Dance Now" and other 90's dance-remix vids, De La Soul "Me Myself & I" and other boho-rapper vids, etc..)

Um.. Color Me Badd I Wanna Sex You Up Hall & Oates Method of Modern Love Sorry, the shit just sticks in my head.
