Martin DeThurah, IKEA commercial

mov here.
direct mov here. i wonder whether he's happy with all those sounds...
howevah: off with ye to shortsville (and while you're there, don't miss this)!
that was an awesome spot. but don't you guys usually give shit to ppl for posting spots here?
the sound effects are half the commercial, it actually allows you to participate in visualizing what might be going on inside...
prog: You saw this one some time ago and you know I've been itching(!) - so I had to celebrate with a ville posting as it is (somewhat) fitting.
As for the sounds, I hear you. But I don't think the problem is the inclusion of design per se, more like the ad world's knee jerk reaction to pump it up in the mix - and rather obnoxiously! If we were to be exact, its the monkeys, ring tone, and really cheap ending, toothbrush-ing.
piore: Yeah, usually people dont post spots here. But there is a graveyard even the ghosts have forgotten over there:
I heart Martin de Thurah. He's amazing. He gave this Ikea spot so much atmosphere, ad agency and all. I was wondering what he has been up to.
I thought this was going to be a music video. :(
That Johan Renck spot was great. This one was kind of lame.
Those guys over at Bacon are great. The Prisen spot is one of my all time favorites.
KRIS. Well if you'd like to take my name off the post and put yours, I guess that's fine, haha.
TODDY: Which prisen spot...?
lusk: it's a levels question - i'm with you. (i know they spent months wrangling over the audio. the early versions i heard - the first without any music at all - were certainly a lot more subtle with their sound fx...)
(also: your original post was fried in a temporary database frizz; kris managed to salvage the comments, so the post's a reconstruct.)
