Socadia "Always Near" Dir. Andrea Giacomini (Jako Films)
MOV here.
What a total ripoff and complete waste of time. It's just a shitty version of Michel Gondry's video for Jean-François Coen's "La Tour de Pise". See for yourself: www.youtube.com
I cant stand split screen..graphics designers who want to make film always use split screen. It's bollocks, and only ever worked on The Thomas Crown Affair...so there..
go easy on the guy... Andrea Giacomini is actually part of the band, so i'm guessing that he's not even a real director (as in one who does it for a living). anyway...
Lovely track. It's not like Gondry's split-screen urbania was all that innovative of an idea anyway.
Yes, split screens only ever worked on "The [Original] Thomas Crown Affair", "The Boston Strangler" & "Woodstock"
yeah... unfortunately has none of the cleverness of composition of gondy. problem with split screne is that fuckers are always throwing it in at the last minute, to try and hide things or jazz up an otherwise dull video/commercial. not that they did that here, it's just one of the reasons why it's so overdone. it's all about the compositiotn i reckon.
what about the breakdown in 'Superfly'? that's pretty damn good.
