NEWS: New MTV Titles

The new titles, which have so far been used on just a couple videos (T-Pain, Fall Out Boy), are a more modern design placed in the full body of the screen. The label and director credit are only shown during the closing title.
Personally I hope it's just a test, though I'm glad MTV's trying to stay modern. The only thing left now is that pesky logo.
At least they still have that "pesky logo"! It's the last vestige of the old days on a network that looks light years different than it did even 10 years ago.
Btw Idolator posted this. I don't feel like signing up there so I wanted to clarify here that I'm not sure this change is happening, but I saw the titles a couple times and felt like reporting about it.
I haven't seen the titles since then.
Update: The titles have made their debut today. The font is clean, all-caps, and rounded-blocky. It's not super-neat, but it's pretty cool.
The font looks a lot like the subt blog font, but without the stencil cuts.
As during the tests, the screen fades when the titles are presented.
Any MTV staffers here who know the font name?
For anyone wondering - probably not many at this time - MTV's font is more likely a type of Kabel Ultra, not Kabel Black. Wikipedia lists a type of Kabel as what they used, meaning they manufactured their own typeface based on Kabel (Black or Ultra?), for use from 1981 - 2007.
