Consequence Feat. Kanye West: "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" ; (Director: Kanye West + Susan Linss)
This song was released long ago (2005?) via mixtape and was one of the collaborators' earliest (and best to date...IMO) pieces when he was being pushed on the now in limbo G.O.O.D. Music. Kanye was on his "I want to be the next Hype Gondronze as a Rapper" ego thing. I remember seeing the making of this video waaaay back and he was going on about how he is this video savant. And the girl that co directed it had some other setups on the moving trailer that were dope but must have been left on the floor.
It was different, yet a refreshing reflection on the champagne/cocaine rap genius jazz era of the mid 90's. I can't quite put my finger on it...but if you understand my rant, you understand why....I love how this song looks...I love this video.
More good HipHop for the site...(good hip hop videos...sigh...oh how I miss thee).
I like the texture that the visual mix gives the artists' features - like scars or accentuated bone-structures. A good reason for being in b&w. Lifts it just above the tedium to which it is otherwise shackled by yet more undistinguished R&B.
thanks!
