Cobra Starship - "The City is At War" - dir. Whitey McConnaughy

Goofy fun.
I can't believe nobody's commented about this video... oh wait, there's nothing to hate about it. Good job, Whitey.
As much as I want to keep up a snobby front, Cobra Starship continues to break through with their sheer, infectious likability. Or maybe it's just their keen picks for directors...
Goofy fun indeed. Perhaps I felt that the basic Bugsy-Malone-in-21st-century-turf-war idea wasn't completely exhausted but it's entertaining as is.
Where's Scott Baio & Jodie Foster??
Any video that can show band members cutting and weighing "flower" and still get on MTV gets my nod of approval. Having worked with these guys before I can honestly say they like to keep it interesting. Plus, Whitey did a good job on a super fast preproduction to shoot in NYC. Props.
goofy? that's pretty dark if you ask me!
really nice idea, kind of would've liked to see it go more nasty at the end - like if you're going to make the whole pie/gun joke, have them pistol-whipping some guy with a paper plate, or torturing people with spray-on-cream.
if you're gonna pastiche gang warfare & gun crime, then do it justice (no pun intended).
