Soulwax - Part Of The Weekend Never Dies (Teaser) - Dir: SAAM
Not exactly a music video, yet quite relevant I think. Saam Farahmand's documentary about Soulwax will have its premiere tomorrow (april 24) at the Royal Festival Hall in London. This is the teaser.

curious to see this any release dates? or festivals?
i really want to see this.
@my name is legion: I'm only sure about a screening at the Ether Festival in London (see original post) and Docville festival in Leuven, Belgium (www.docville.be). It also appears their next line of performances will be accompanied by screenings of the film. Better keep an eye on the tourdates listed on their myspace: www.myspace.com

Never thought I'd be so excited for something Saam directed. ;)
On another note, why is Sean Penn at Coachella and not Soulwax? Booz.
please note that this posted version is incorrect. I have reposted. the changes to the new version are only small, but of course important thanks
You coul've just mentioned it here. What's the use of reposting something whenever a slightly different version is discovered? Anyway, mov link fixed.
lisa, i don't know what your problem is, but brother saam has got styleeeee
i find his work monotonous.
i know i'm in the minority here.
i finally watched it. it looks very nice, very sleek & stylish (although too many camera pans for my taste), fast-paced, craftily framed, etc. but i think it's a little undecided in terms of approach, even for a music documentary: it wasn't your 'fly-on-the-wall' observational type (no 'life in loops: megacities rmx' this time), it wasn't openly investigative (except for maybe the first part where they discuss its name), it wasn't talking heads, nor did it consist only of live footage. it was some sort of a puzzle where i think it should've been tighter and more concise. it sure was ace infotainment, but it looked like the director chose style over content (although, in all honesty, that's not bad in my book). and when all this eye candy starts building up in your your eye, you start seeing this for what you really think it is: not a music documentary good and proper, but a feature lnght promo, paid for by the label. some behind-closed-doors drama as in 'metallica: some kind of monster' would've helped.
my hems and haws notwithstanding, i enjoyed it, although i'm no fan of soulwax (hence not part of the core target).
can anyone recommend some other music docs on electronica? such as this one, or 'berlin digital - a guide through the electronic music scene'? or 'darkbeat', or 'dub echoes'? 'bassweight'?
