Cut Copy, "Hearts On Fire" (dir. Nagi Noda)
This vid should be posted with the DEATH OF A DIRECTOR posting. Because I'm gonna say it right now. In 6 months, this 'concept' will be seen in an ad of some form.
That was absolute crap. Cut Copy officially suck.
a great idea, and an endearing clip with some charm in its simple narrative and nievity. Its got a lot going for it but seems like something was up in the execution. maybe something was lost in translation. I would have iked to have seen a huge umbrella parade at the end. The bedrooms section is sweet made me laugh..
Best vid for this Cut Copy album below.
I think this is a simple and elegant concept. Occasionally the video seems underwhelming but i think thats part of its charm. I'm sure the budget on this was a lot smaller then Nagi is use to working with.
One of the Radar winners did just did this. www.youtube.com
Both of the rain cloud vid's, un-original and boring. not into it
embarassing, much?
i like the band and director, and i don't dislike this video - but it doesn't seem right for the song. This kind of thing works great with whimsical music like Yuki. Was this shot in Japan?
reminds me of...
oh i think its rather charming
first time i came across the concept was in a douglas adam's novel - dirk gently's holistic detective agency. the character was a rain god without realising he was being worshipped.
the girl at the end is FITTERS too.
nice one nagi
hasn't every director/creative had this idea at some point?
i've read two (unpicked) similar pitches by well-known directors. and i wrote a short film with the same concept when i was in jr. high.
tragic, such a good track.
Even Travis weren't lame enough to use this concept.
Already seen very similar in an ad.... with wind, rather than rain which was actually very effective.
I couldn't watch this to the end though.
