Black Kids "Hurricane" Dir. Rozan & Schmeltz / Surface 2 Air
Dirs. Rozan & Schmeltz (Surface 2 Air Paris studio)
You forgot "Jane" in the title.
Okay, I am totally showing my age here, but everytime they sang "It's Friday night and I ain't got nobody," my brain mentally filled in "I got some money 'cause I just got paid."
I remember that song too albatross....so we both are showing our age, but I thought this song and video were solid. Not standard and had some very cool things going on. I liked the exploding pyramids. I wonder what camera they shot that on?
This is ok, but there are a few things that bug me about it. Number one the art direction is trying to hard to be fashionable to the point of being obvious. Number two Rozan and schmeltz are still using slow mo to make music videos. Oh well the exploding pyramids did look nice.
P.S I thought 'parmezan' had quit?
yep, like the pyramids, like the slomo, not really feeling much of the rest.
Sand explosions are nice. The silvery golden outfit at the end looks really great! Would love to see a hi-resolution quicktime of this.
the pyramids look exactly like the set from Daft Punks 'Technologic'?
this is a new version of the song. It feels sloppier and the vocals aren't as strong. Still, good song.
I think the lead singer is a pretty awesome music video star. This video is pretty cool but I couldn't figure out the concept. It was like they were all gathering to watch something and then all had their own fantasy scenes.
Yeah interesting that they rerecorded it. The original on the EP is so atmospheric. I think the original song would have helped push the mood of the video. Perhaps the director was working with the old track and it was undated in post? -j
Here's the best live, non-televised footage of a Black Kids concert on the web to date.
