Dan Le Sac VS. Scroobius Pip - 'Letter From God To Man'

good track. nice song concept. however, the video's idea seems a bit out of touch with the music which is odd because the band came up with the idea themselves.
did this vid end up getting commissioned through radar music? (www.radarmusicvideos.com) the proposed budget on the site appox. $7.5k USD. if that's what this was made for then color me impressed. although, would still like to have felt a stronger intellectual connection between the visuals and the audio.

ditto the above....that simply didn't fit the track at all. Shame
nice idea, bringing kids back to the screen, but uninspired result
listened to the track again, separately from the video. it's builds wonderfully and has a well harnessed chaotic energy and i think, more than anything else, this is what the video is missing.
the song is one giant build towards a climax that then crashes into the radiohead breakdown. the video doesn't have that build and perhaps that is the source of the disconnect between sight and sound that i feel in this.

@kalstark: no, this wasnt commissioned thru radar. they called for pitches based on their idea, then called it off.
Hmm..that's sux. The idea behind radarmusicvideos is an interesting one. But, in it's current form, it doesn't seem to be working...

P.S. - The more I listen to this track the more awesome I think it is. Love the concept behind the lyrics.
thats poetry alright. almost as good as saul williams'. almost.
I really liked the song, since watching that vid made by ambee, with nothing but the lyrics. Given the quality of previous LeSac&Pip vids expected the official one to be excellent... sadly disappointed. There's something lacking. The song's climax isn't supported visually. Pity, that dino-boy is funny. Kudos for the TV-head cameo! One thing: the shoot starts in Paternoster Square, right? What is/where is that accordion-like metal sculpture a couple shots after?
@Optical: Thanks for pointing out the lyrics vid. Strange enough I think it's more interesting and powerful, in its utter simplicity, than the official version. I adore the subtle manner in which the writing gets bigger and 'angrier'.
And, despite being nothing more than 'words on a page', this video ends up capturing the song's essence and emotional build in a way the official version doesn't do at all.

kalstark: I agree. I think Radar would have more success if they passed on all the treatments they received to their clients, instead of the arbitrary "top 5 directors" system they have now. It might seem like a lot to read, but think if they also stipulate a one paragraph synopsis at the top of each treatment it would be less burdensome :) -j
