Stipe told the Associated Press last month, "The music video is a dead medium so I didn't want to go to that industry to create a piece." erm... FAIL?
youΒ΄re right, maybe stipe is wrong, because beyond all opinions and discussions, a lot of people, like me for example, have learned and love new music through videos, even if those are cheap, weak, great or so-so, sometimes we have to think twice before speak aloud.

yep. that is it is. and an expensive dull one at that.
maybe it's just my pathological dislike of Stripes, and all his suedo-intellectual pontificating, but doesn't this just feel like one long wankjob? sure it's nice animation, really nicely done... but it's got no soul. i kept on waiting for it to cut and go to packshot.
we all lose faith in the medium from time to time. it's strange to hear a comment like that from Stipe considering REM has had pretty good luck as far as music videos go
as for this one, its worth a look and its not totally soulless.
