first of all- massive tune. hard to go wrong with a banger like that.

secondly- I like the way that the video maximises the emotion in the song by linking it directly what the song is really about: being lonely on the road because you are in a rock and roll band. ...rather than making an arty interpretation of.

i'm always creatively going to have problems with something that mixes live stuff with b/w doc stuff with set up beautifully photographed stuff, but I think as I said before- because the song is about being in a band the video (in my opinion) pretty much gets away with this collage-like approach.

Thanks to this video arrogantly playing automatically everytime I come to antville and subsequently confusing the hell out of me and make me fiddle with the sound settings on my computer for five minutes I officially hate it.

         

I think this video is great. Not sure why people seem disappointed that the band isn't still doing the film-school "technique on your sleeve" type videos that were so popular 5 years ago. I think Muller knocked this one out of the park. Perfectly color corrected, beautifully edited.

         

With vidbot. That autoplay is awful.

         

I dig it. I find it to be one of sophie's better videos (regardless if the idea has been done many times before). Very beautiful photography work (who was the DP?) and at times great editorially (anyone know the editor as well?). A solid track. A solid vid.

sigh..... Antville has become a truly sad place indeed when videos like this are celebrated.

         

Kansas, what would you rather see celebrated? It seems to me like you have a rather narrow view of what constitutes a good music video if you can't appreciate this piece.
