Fascinating. My first thought was Cera. The second was The Shadow over Innsmouth. Then I stopped thinking.
erm, yeah - a page too many out of posto's moleskine...
It's the oddest thing but copies always lose the magic of the original. And I don't believe it's the mere fact that we've seen something before so it no longer feels or looks special because I can go back and watch the Cera vid right now and still get chills.
Yet, whenever something is copied, in this way, the essence of the piece is always absent. I imagine it's because the copiers don't actually understand what made the original work in the first place. They simply liked the vibe of the original and so decided to appropriate it for themselves.
Hmmm...sorry for the blatherings. I just find it strange that copies, which can use the original as a cheat sheet, still never manage to make honors.
