Discretion is knowing how to hide that which we cannot remedy.

One of my favorite examples of this just about any goo good dolls video, where they take great pains to hide the bass player. I think there was one single where his face was actually hidden behind a tree branch during the performance shots.

Ha. That is like a whole other category - where the video focuses on some of the group at the expense of the others' ugliness or lack of dancing or whatever.

Always loved videos for the band, Heart - since they all go to great lengths to hide as much of chubby sister that sings to focus on the hot sister that plays guitar (and marries Cameron Crowe). The video for 'Alone' has lots of super-close-ups of the singer in a veil (some stretched out) or extreme high angles of the whole stage to make her look smaller. www.youtube.com
