MR HUDSON "There Will Be Tears" Directed by: NABIL from nabil elderkin on Vimeo.
in all reality, much less exciting than the kanye video. feels rather cheap and detached from the song.
this guy is affiliated with kanye/good music and like kid cudi, should be trying to work with different talents as opposed to the same directors (with infinitely lesser budgets) as kanye does.
also, i'd argue this song was a major aesthetic influence on kanye's 808's and heartbreak.
Really? i dont find it detached.. maybe not as elaborate os Kanye's video but none the less very interesting to watch. It has a great flow and subtle thing i see new each time. It def looks like the budget wasnt quite the same, which i can believe.. But overall well done!
CRAZY-NESS!! makes my eyes need to time - out.. then watch again
yeah, feels a little too yeezy, but still ok
i actually dig this music video a lot. the songs being solid doesn't hurt at all.
Dig it. "Mr. Hudson" is a terrible stage name though.
The old final cut bad tv effect and some masking/compositing? This is really a joke isn't it?
The joke is that sometimes people pay lots of money for all sorts of glitz and glam and sometimes a simple video like this works great..
Yeah the joke is on us. If this is 'great' and its all that people expect artistically, conceptually, narratively, cinematically then every hipster kid on the street with half a brain, a laptop and some pre-packaged effects is the next directing genius. 5 billion and one directing genius's running around directing music videos, commercials and feature films. Yep I look forward to that. What a great Joke.
