Eminem- 3 A.M (Dir: Syndrome)
NSFW, I guess
I admire the scope and the effort and I'm grateful for a video that felt like an event. Some of the visuals are striking and it's always cool to see an artist push the limits of a genre.
However, I didn't enjoy the end result and felt that it was, for lack of a better word, messy. There's no real driving force here and the promo is all over the place. It also doesn't help that the song is ho-hum and, perhaps most damaging, Eminem's performance lacked luster.
K
thought this was great. nice mood, locations, effects generally added good things... real solid work.
the video is fine, pretty pedestrian. but the song? is he pretending that we're still in the 90s
as you, true-fiction, expected this is the the follow up to his fun-single: this here really isn't funny and it gives us the feeling that eminem is not a lucky guy at all. a truly nightmare. still very clever how he puts himself into splinterd characters from his personality. it's also quiet expectable, that people will misunderstad this and that they will take it for real what eminem is telling about himself.
He might be more convincing as a serial killer if he didn't have a voice like a constipated muppet. Everytime he says "Three o'clock in the mornin'" I hear Elmo.
it's cool to see an artist embracing different styles. I guess Eminem has always done that though, right?
i think that this is a good peice of filmmaking and a tight, well executed music video. nails it's horror-movie refs.
'I guess I musta keeled dum, keeled dum!' Nice looking video over all I thought.
wow, fuckin terrible.
the song is really weird - like he's rapping in a voice that no one has done; and for good reason - it's a weird voice. This whole track feels like studio noodling; a quirky b-side - not a single.
The video I think is pretty awesome. The scratches and quick cuts can be a bit too much; but it really captures a great horror tone. Some of those shots are very striking. And goddamn; the fact that they were able to have that much blood in there (making MTV play impossible, right?) is sort of great.
"a great horror tone" -- who said what...?
Linda Vista hospital! ha I thought this was great, the style, tone, look and mood were all great and a "juxtposable mashup" if you will.
