This would be a good video for your friend's band in college but not for snow patrol. It feels like two people walking around with a DV camera and boombox awkwardly filming the singer in public.

Hard to tell what went wrong here, but i think it was probably one of three possibilities:
- Really bad commission.
- Budget went completely to the gimmick, nothing left to afford a proper dp, color, grade, or camera rental.
- Label thought that making a crappy video constituted "going viral", is waiting for apple to incorporate this into an ipod touch commercial.

Definitely Cape Town. That's Table Mountain they have in a few of the shots. Nice location.
