"Lingerie" Spec Ad- (Dir: A.Patterson....aka TrueFiction)
This is my first kind of Ad I've ever done. It's really more of an for the Prod.Company who finance it for me. Tell me what you think. I would of post it Shortsville, but who really goes there?
This has not a single redeeming quality. Back to the drawing board.
What are you talking about? That bedspread is pretty nice...
maybe you shouldn't have shot this inside a Holiday Inn.
funny enough, that was the presidental suite.
I like the flame logo at the end.
ProCess - thats being a jerk man. How about something constructive.
this is void of any idea whatsoever. execution and window dressing always come secondary to a good idea or at the very least some sort of insight or basic truth etc.
but heck, at the same time in terms of the experience and what you can learn from having made this, its a very good start.
good luck mate
Beauty is tough. You're competing against guys with more lights, better make up artists and hotter women. (And, better locations). It takes a lot of money to make someone look beautiful. I mean, have you ever seen a lingerie ad shot on the HVX? Doesn't really happen.
You should start with your limitations, and then figure out what you can do with the budget.
i agree with captn marc--avoid convention and do something bold. i personally would have loved this woman going through the hotel lobby like this.
c-dub, I was being constructive, I said go back to the drawing board. False praise gets nobody anywhere good.
looks poor for a beauty ad (dont take it personally, i know how it is to work with low budgets, but i've sen some porn films with better lighting than this one) but the broad's quite sexy, i'll give you that
Yeah, gotta say the lighting was my main beef too. More subdued & cheesy as it might sound, soft focus with slow mo close ups might help. Cliched perhaps, but that's what comes to mind when I here Lingerie. Honestly, it seems to be a pretty classically styled product so why not give it the standard treatment?
Over all this is proficient, but looks a little like student work. The Hotel room is a problem too. Why not a real bedroom somewhere or even loft/warehouse type setting. Even a night clubby thing. NO background could work too. I mean you don't want to compete with the product, right?
Also, she's attractive enough but really could use some nails. Nothing fancy, but...
Good luck. Keep at it!
:)
