its funny to me -- this was made long before there was this concept of "viral videos" ruling marketing decisions. and if it came out now it would have made a massive impact as a brilliant viral piece.

And yet, it's so very hard to imagine that any current label commissioner asking for something with "viral potential" would greenlight something like this.
