HOCKEY "Song Away" - directed by Josh Forbes
From the lovely, lovely VIDEOSTATIC:
If Hockey's "Song Away" sounds like it was ripped from a soundtrack to an obscure John Hughes (R.I.P.) movie, just wait until you click play on the video and see that the video could be a bonus clip from said movie as well. Director Josh Forbes delivers all the embarrassment you wish you didn't remember from that high school dance. Actor Paul Rust (I Love You, Beth Cooper) plays the male lead, strutting his stuff out on the dancefloor like an epileptic peacock in mating season. Charlene Yi (Knocked Up, Paper Hearts) heeds his call, although only after she's knocked out of her senses by a flying shoe. Hockey are in the video as well, both as the featured group at this gymnasium dance and as ethereal sprites from the '80s, egging on the heartbreak. --> watch "Song Away"

So nice to see a video that's focused on pure fun. Paul and Charlyne are a great duo that can't help but make you smile. They also sometimes perform music together as "The Glass Beef". Check them out at UCB LA if you get the chance.
Why is skinny making another video for this track??? Isn't this epic enough?
Awesome video, Josh...when does the movie come out?
spot on casting.
how did you approach the actors to be in the vid?
funny!
LOVE it. looks like john hughes movie w/ a perfect cast. the fx were totally unnecessary IMO but overall didn't hurt the vid. the band looks cool and fun, video was nice. well done and kudos to getting big indie actors to be in a budget indie MV!!!
"I won't get full of myself, I can't afford to be?" We'll just have to see about that, Mr. Flavor of the week.
Cool that they got themselves a Basterd:
I love any video in which the meet-cute is a shoe to the head. Fun, fun, fun.
I think it's shit. This is just LA hipsters bumming each other.
