Marcella & the Forget Me Nots, "What Have You Done To Your Face" (dir Alex de Campi)
Bit of Svankmajer-esque fun for the Forget-Me-Nots. Warning: quite lo-fi. Also, claymation surgery.

question, if i may? the singing ads were so the right idea for this. perhaps if you'd shot the scalpels&syringes on something other than an iphone (?) they might have been worthy interloper - but all the other stuff: why is it in here?
i can't imagine anyone listening to music like this. is there an opportune time? in the car? chilling in your room? at the office? working out? where does this kind of music fit in
@progosk : Glad you liked the singing ads. I didn't think they could hold the whole nearly 4 minute track, though, and I felt the other elements added pathos and ick. But possibly you're right - this video came together in a very odd way, and I freely admit it's a bit of a kitchen sink.
The scalpel and claymation stuff was shot on 500-speed super8 left over from the band's "Monster Mae" shoot. I has no iPhone :(
I will say this is the right approach to this, because it doesn't contemporize it to the latest trend. The track has an old cabaret vibe to it, and variety is good even when it doesn't hold together fully. It gives us something to look for. What's more important for me, is the way Alex injects commentary into her work which defines an aesthetic of sorts. I respect what she does diversity's good. Instead of most of videos that marry it to an idea (or non idea) here there's something to be said and there's a way to say. Video's good. The song is a test for ears but we talk about video here.
