"It's been a while since my Yashiva days, so my Hebrew is kind of rusty, but when I heard Surprise Hotel it reminded me of those pool parties where you invite your grandfather's friends from AA and maybe some girls you meet outside an Albertons or Baha Fresh. - A strict no-pants policy is enforced for the older gentlemen and the ladies wear strictly high-cut bikinis. - After some ribs and orange soda you let the reptiles and pure breds loose and just see what happens. - That's where the video came from, those innocent days of summer, just being proud and free and soakin' up the rays." - Matthew Lessner
nice video. The tone is a good balance for the song.
Am I the only one who thinks this is a total cop out of a solid idea?
- Slow motion splash fest CHECK
- Incredibly misplaced old people dancing with young people CHECK
- Girls in hot-tub, ironically wearing one piece bathing suits CHECK
Great, we got ourselves a music video, LETS GO!
What up YAY?
How is it a "cop out"?
And in your opinion, what is the "solid idea" that he's copping out on?
For me - it was random, but definitely some cool moments. I like the guy getting dragged while playing the guitar.
first time poster here, long time listener...
i know on paper there's something suspicious about all the slow motion splashing and bikini girls but in practice i think it worked great. actually felt good watching it-
-and didn't feel cloying to me at all, if anything kind of a nudge and wink in that it's set high above los angeles, land of over the top dreams, as if this shit happens all the time.
