Just saw a private screening of Megaforce's divine video for Kid Cudi, it's as graceful and magical and great as the one the label unfortunately posted is BAD.

Cudi, you're a fool not to use it, it's amazing! Open your eyes!

It's probably worth pointing out that the Josh Harnett version is actually getting a lot of internet love from Cudi fans/hip-hop sites.

with the current state of mv's, I think really it's a question of getting paid. like as long as mega / mega's prod co has been paid the moneys for the mv, then their video can go out immediately. if management threatens, then it gets taken down. but get it out there...

maybe we can do the dethurah/kanye thing. mega, just send the video to 'someone'. and that someone will put it up here. Progosk, can u be that someone...?

apparently kid cudi found that he looks ugly in the video. i like their work, but their promos do all have a VERY ugly look. i appreciate that maybe its part of their viral aesthetic, but they could afford to spend more time thinking about the photography and the artist as opposed to exclusively the cool transitions.

And the reason why I am so enthusiastic about this vid of Megaforce is that precisely they've really stepped it up on the cinematography front. The image and the world they've created are gorgeous. Kid Cudi probably finds himself ugly because he looks sorta stoned, but that's probably because he played it stoned?...

@megawhere: yes, that what's schofield did with his director's cut of the Gainsbourg video, which is much better than the label's. But it would be better if a don't ask don't tell policy was the rule on the comments maybe, for fear of the day we directors might not even have that option anymore because somehow it's been made illegal by the labels...

         

Interesting discussion, so if the video is being held the hype grows? this could turn into a trend. I know nothing await the video or meh it.

Jaron Albertin, 2008 nominee at Music Video Awards for Best Director, is looking to cast a lead woman and lead man for his upcoming video for Toronto Stories. The video is a short film depicting a dark and poetic scene between the two leads. Shooting on the night of Monday 26th October in London. Casting will be held on Wednesday 21st, more details will be disclosed to applicants.
