may i? the camerawork on this is unbelievably shoddy (with the soundwork not far behind). does this not matter to you? with as straightforward a concept as the take-away shows to imitate, why do you think it's ok to make no effort to 1. understand what it is you're attempting and 2. add at least some sort of value to the musicians' playing? but then, you're not the least bit interested in the musicians. despite the fact that TARM have been one of the very few local indie bands to dare to experiment with the visuals to their tracks. you don't even post the name of the their track, and you flub their genre. christalmighty, altro che cool - il peggio davvero.

hi Progosk, not taking into consideration the rancour of your comment which i don't understand i don't agree with the judgement of our work about the video and audio. let me say that the set of this clip has been chosen by Davide Toffolo of Tarm (that you seem to know very well) and i find it reallly brilliant. I personally don't like the clip that you suggest ad exaples of experiments with no particular aim (i prefer much more thei last video www.youtube.com ). For the name of the track maybe "haste made waste" cause it's written over there: "Puoi dirlo a tutti". Thanks anyway for your time and pieces of advices.

the fact that the location was the band's choice halfway underlines my point: they obviously care about what they do. which is why it bugs me that you guys shot them with two left hands, alla peggio you might say if that were even funny. you've been at this for what, at least a year, not to mention that the whole concept is just borrowed. so the very least you could do (given that you've managed to place yourselves with the semblance of a channel or somesuch) is to think about the light; to think about what you are filming; to think about your framing; to think ahead about your equipment; to work on getting better sound while avoiding ugly little mikes pinned to the singer's t-shirt. all of this is really not rocket science, and it should be central to what you spend your time doing - or do you just not care? it riles me whenever i see an occasion for something worthwhile just lazily flicked out the window. (and i still can't fathom why that happens so often in italy.) take my rant for a plea: try to be really good at what you do, or else please stop doing it and do something different. it's that simple. (oh, and: that video you linked was honestly pretty pointless and amateurish; i prefer this other recent one of theirs.)

i understand your point but what you say it's waht we don't want to do: be perfect. the mikes, the lights and all the other things...it's a mixed blessing, you may like it but surely it's different from the usual video-music style or the animated video you keep posting and i still don't like. we surely borrowed the concept but also the spirit of a guerrilla filming, which is what we do (in part). and no: we won't stop doing it :D

Both comments have validity, I think it's a matter of point of view. One thing I cannot stand about the site and hear me out is the relentless bitching (you know who you are) in place of balanced commentary. It's almost like a bunch of morons make their opinions the opinion, and this reverberates negatively in this forum.

Anyone worth their salt won't care what most people say if they feel getting the video done is an achievement in itself, something a few people here are not bothered to look at. Go make your own videos and struggle.

Progosk not all people have high achievement to blow out the casket, in fact people just want to make videos not to be put in a cross. If having a point of view pertains to that, then that is the failure of internet bandits. Suddenly people will indeed think what will Antvillers think? frankly it doesn't matter if all that is faced is skepticism, scrutiny, and plain old hatred.

That said, it's a flip to the coin. But does the audience it was made for really care? or does nitpicking decrease the value of the video itself? for people that do care about videos they tend to be constructive, for frustrated ones who judge any video based on their own decrease it's an opinion worth anything at all? it's a fking video for chrissakes.

There is alot of amateurish stuff being made without a concept thought through, something you pointed out in the details such as lavs showing ect ect. Yes it should have been said, my comment is not directed at you personally Progosk but at the whole vibe of the site in general. What I am defending is not shitty videos but the right to post them without stones being thrown by usual suspects.

Something that gulp, I am willing to defend. Because well, it's worth caring. And that's music videos.

And yes, a bit of lazyness does stick out in music vids. But there's also hard work that goes undetected it's sorta the way it goes.
