Ace's best video? I think so.
A lot of really odd aesthetic decisions that I don't think work at all, coupled with a lot of sloppy craft -- but the track is killer, and the video's got a bunch of great ideas to boot.
Why was the studio shot on a p2? Wouldn't it have made more sense to shoot with a older camera from the 80's, like a svhs or studio mount....? The edit between formats clash too much.
weird and bad ass. the pacing works really well and the ending is pretty unexpected.
haven't we seen enough of this by now?
I liked this, it's fun and silly and I liked the fact that the studio footage looked different, it looks like they were going for that Wes Anderson clean retro pastiche (esp with the futura subs). The only thing that really bothered me was the dodgy roto at the end; there's even a static shot where it's off.
i like it all except when they turn into 'static' characters - it put me off. although made out of old bits & pieces, the whole story felt very fresh

Would love to see the pitch of this, 'volcano erupts, static demons blast out and body snatch a television crew thru chewing gum and coffee mug teletransportation resulting in mass chaos and people with big mouths moving in sync to the music'.
