A note to Antville: Videoville closing

Just fyi: videoville, antville's sister wiki, will be closing this month.
Reason: Mostly cost. If anyone wishes to raise around $350 to keep it up, let me know.
Barring that, I'll port some of the info from the site to director-file.com videoville.org.

For what it's worth I used it quite a bit. Mostly as a way to refer back to monthly "best of's" and classic posts. I do think it was a useful resource for anyone who's looking to broaden their knowledge of the music video world. R.I.P.
If videoville is going down we should at the very least find a place to archive best-of lists.
If one of you wants to copy content from videoville to another site here at antville.org, let me know and I'll create it.
not a music video.
jk.
that was the point.
rip.
wait, what? (thx, kinomu - i know antville.org is allowing new subsites to be registered, only i'm not sure it digests mediawiki (which is what videoville is implemented on, correct, k?) i've asked the powers that be on this.)
is that $350/year you're saying? let me just crunch some (peanutty) tip-per-visitors numbers on that...
I am MORE than willing to contribute financially for this cause, really. Count me in.
coolth, almo. 'villians to the fore! just looking into best solutions.
$350 for approx 1.5 years. So about $230 per year. MediaWiki, yep.
i'll pitch in as well.
Perhaps a new post should be posted where all contributors could express their will to contribute. After a week (or so) we'll just have to divide the 230$ or 350$ (or whatever) by the number of contributors. As simple as that. Progosk?
Not that I ever use it but I see it's worth to peeps on here........ So is there a paypal A/c set up I don't mind bungin' a few bob to keep it runnin'
thx for th'idea, almo; looking into paypal thingy, since all other tipjar services have died a slow death. also checking with the antville.org collective. will keep y'all (newly) posted.
great.
