Joseph Kahn's - Maroon 5 Uncredited Inspiration

Just happened across this and thought it was interesting that nowhere are the originators of Joseph Kahn's maroon 5 video credited. Even the styling & grade is directly referenced/lifted.
whatevs.
right. who cares.
is anybody else growing steadily weary of the public calling-out on this site? especially of the anonononymous variety.
It's called referencing, grow up and get a life. If every director were to credit every major reference that'd be a lot of shit to read through.
Referencing, homage, & lifting are Music Video traditions from the get go.
^ I'll co sign that. Now we're making referencing public, to prove what? that the ville has another post like this.
lame post
Also, you'll note that that issue of Vogue came out in May of 2009. The video came out just a month or so ago. So if anyone needs to apologize for ripping off an idea, it's Kahn.
Laziness.
almost every filmmaker/ artist 'steals' and almost all of them reference. kahn is working because he delivers timely and in fashion without crossing the lines. you have to be this way in order to be a full time label slave. if you don't you are a risk. they want reliable tools not original artists.
with the internet i've realized you can just about track down any directors original reference and have a dozen more that could have been. in fact, it could be it's own never ending blog!
i hated the video regardless. but i give the director slack. it's hard times on mainstream st. at least he referenced a hard copy magazine and not an image off a popular culture blog (paul hunter kesha pigment powder motel glitter nightmare cough cough)
i suppose he could have stolen with a certain amount of panache and cleverness IE not styling her almost identically, but music videos have historically followed the pavings of vogue etc...
interesting find but no surprise
