too Ray Tintori for my taste.
kansas?
Just when I was enjoying the filmic qualities of the live action material I get t-bagged with horrible animation sections. I don't know how that relationship was ever going to work.
Thanks wildswan, I'll take it from here.
Yes, song is too much like last years MGMT but its ok. Un-offensive, nice.
Not sure of any other Ray Tintori video connections except that Special Problems are definitely trying on the 'bad taste is good taste' low fi animation schtick. However I don't think it's carrying over. It's not funny or inventive and just comes off as bad taste. It's also a bad move trying to mix nicely composed cinematic 'fashion hipster' shots with the bad taste animation. It's just confusing.
So in conclusion I like the cinematic shots and the multiples idea (although slightly un-original). These shots look nice. But thats all they do, look nice, the video as a whole doesn't work in a narrative or conceptual sense. Like most of Special Problems stuff it's just a bunch of vague random ideas thrown together and then remixed in After Effects.
Pity... I got excited by the opening shots. Maybe your right Wildswan, maybe they need a break. That Kids Of 88 video was truly terrible.
