Drake feat Lil Wayne - "Miss Me" (Dir: Anthony Mandler)
wow, everything but the two white walls set up in this is atrocious. the edit is embarrassing. the cinematography is sloppy as fuck. and why is this 6 minutes long?
awful.
Yeah but what do you expect? Drake and co thought Mandler's last Drake video was "pure art".
I think it's the effects that destroyed it for me. Cheap as. Wouldn't have been so bad without them (esp the petrol bomb faces).
I guess lil wayne's still in prison then.
as much as i think drake is an unfortunately looking talentless douchemonk paying for his 15 minutes of fame i will say he is being smart with the directors he works with... there's something very 'serious' going on in all of his videos. drake is a very 'serious' artist.
the video reminds me of doing too much coke in the 80's. the same reaction i get when i look at a picture of the directors face. but lazyness can be a style you know. mandlers made his career out of it. lazyness + pretention = art in mandlers world. don't try TOO hard... it will look like you cared. caring is contrived. and that's not cool.
final thought: without all the saturated colors and celebrities mandler is a complete hack.
You guys are some hating ass haters. You've missed the point COMPLETELY with this video. Out of all the videos Mandler has done for Drake, this is my favorite. All the others were eh....
This was fresh!
