Primary 1: Never Know(the dir)
Dir: JMD
MASSIVE !!!!!!
It's like someone found every hipster film on antville, edited them together as a "video treatment", and then made it into a music video. Horrible.
I agree with Mr. Jobs.
But the song is awesome!
Seems like random fffound / art blog re-enactment is the new black. Which is fine but this lacked humour and personality. I'm sorry, nice try but the verdict is - boring.
hey folks remember its a music video. :) they didn't have ffffound back in the 80s but they did some whacky shit back then as well. its just more random nowadays.
True Pancho but the thing is this isn't 'whacky' or random enough. This formula has been done a few times now very recently with far more personality and finesse.
As Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to."
It's a brilliant mix of such things, and none of you could come up with.
Here's a game we can all play.
-
Go to a fffound random image generator, pepperpoppins.com
-
Take the first 5 images it comes up with.
-
Turn it into a treatment!
Great job.
stevejobs, can i see what you've made recently?
I liked the video but that's not why I'm bothering to comment. This is to Victus and Hype but mostly to Hype.
You don't need to be able to create work in an art form in order to be able to critique it. This is probably the most basic principle of criticism.
So, the whole, 'can I see what you've made recently' argument is juvenile and should have lost its lustre for you around grade 9. C'mon people, we're not children anymore.
agreed kal stark I've gotten into the same debate on here many times.
Like if you can't rap better than Jay-Z than you're not allowed to criticize one of his songs?
I actually enjoyed this, sure I'd seen some of the images before (the rainbow shredder and all that), the big wide silhouette crowd shot was really nice, the exploding foam stuff was great, anyone know what it was? I didn't get bored. Also was this a one day shoot? Well done if so, although I think they are two directors, so maybe they had two mini crews.
