Lavalier - Twilight Lovebite - Dir. Kenra Elliot
I have never attended a dinner party on acid, but this is what I imagine it might be like. Twilight Lovebite is the first single from the Lavalier debut EP coming out in JAN 2011.
Lavalier tapped the talents of filmmaker Kendra Elliot, to direct and animate their debut video. With a dinner-party-in-outer-space-gone-terribly-wrong theme, and nods to 70’s-80’s era sci-fi and horror, the video is full of surprises. It even features some special celebrity guest “Oddities”. The Lady Aye, a darling of sideshow and burlesque scene, is spotted swallowing a sword and numerous taxidermy animal friends make appearances, all of whom, have recently been featured on Discovery Channels new television series "Oddities". The video was shot in one day on green screen, but took several months to create the final piece which involved combining, the footage with after effects and traditional stop motion techniques to create a swirling hybrid of animated joy.
