Death Cab For Cutie "You Are A Tourist" dir. Tim Nackashi
"Tune in on Tuesday, April 5th at 7pm EST / 4pm PST to watch the first live, scripted, one-take music video. Ever." www.ustream.tv
Sounds like an interesting experiment. Aaron Stewart-Ahn is involved. I'd hope it's more in the line of tv drama than some OK Go vaudeville.
wtf? UTC? BST? CEST?
I think that means... UTC = 11 AM BST = 12 midnight CEST = 1 AM
Tim Nackashi is director.
I'm a producer on this one, but my involvement was more getting it off the ground and as of right now trying to weigh in on some technical issues. Exciting though to know it's something no one - as far as we can determine - has done.
In the meantime I've just finished a video for The Decemberists coming next week.
saw it. (new grey whistle test?)
i like the proposal, bands (like people) must to experiment a little more in name of their art
That was pretty flat, wish they would have pushed this live idea a little further.
just watched it. not sure it was worth it. but props for trying something 'new'.
I liked it fine! Though I feel like it was a mistake to basically make it a performance video - this isn't that much different than Kanye's recent performance on SNL. I think something focusing more on narrative would have been more interesting; maybe even with some dialogue at the opening.
That being said, it was a pretty cool video, even once the whole live thing is taken away it's got some cool ideas in it.
