there was talk about trying to alter the video on the back end -- paint out hanging girls, remove shots, cut out the gore, etc. MTV had a huge list of both audio and video elements that needed changing....

who cares whether MTV plays it? Didn't Kanye's album hit number 1 without releasing a radio single or something? I don't see how MTV is in a position to dictate anything.
