UK Music Video Awards - entries open until 19 August 2011

There’s just four days left to enter work to the UK Music Video Awards 2011 – the premiere awards show for music video creativity in Britain and beyond, and the big party of the year for UK music videos.
This year we are accepting international and budget entries in each music genre category. There are 5 categories open for entry: pop, indie/rock, dance, urban, and alternative. Videos can be entered into one best video category only, so, you can’t enter the same video into best pop and best dance for example, and you have to choose between UK, international and budget as a sub-category.
Alongside the genre categories are 8 technical achievement awards which will honour the creativity and technical prowess of individuals working on a specific music video made in the past year. At least one of those listed on the entry form as potential recipients must be British, or the video itself must be a UK-commissioned work. The categories are: animation, art direction and design, cinematography, choreography (a brand new award at the MVAs), editing, styling, telecine, and visual effects.
The entry deadline has also been extended to the MVA awards for the best direction of a live music performance and for the best music ad or viral, as well as the innovation award for those pieces of work which really push the definition of moving image for music from anywhere in the world.
So, there's plenty of categories to choose from. For a full list of categories and definitions please see: www.ukmva.com/content/categories
To enter work go to ukmva.com, and then follow the simple entry process on the website. Terms and conditions can also be found there.
All work must be uploaded to the judging platform by midnight in the UK (BST) on the 19th. This will be the final deadline for entry, and the UK MVAs will not be able accept any entries after that time for these categories.
Judging for the UK MVAs 11 begins shortly after the entry deadline. The UK Music Video Awards 2011 takes place at the Empire Leicester Square on November 8th. Tickets are now on sale for the show at the website.
