Hey antville,
Videoville is dead - for real this time.
RIP!
see you on the other side…
k: let me know what issues there are. and: if someone were equipped to host it in your stead, what would a migration entail?
I think the problems with adding new images and using the forms may have lead to lack of activity on Videoville.
I have created another music video wiki at musicvideo.wikia.com/wiki/MUSICVIDEO_Wiki and have been trying get new members for it.
mebbe... but actually my feeling is that wikis are fit for some purposes, and not for others; v'ville seems suited enough for a sort of back-end log-book function to complement the rich-yet-fleeting nature of antville, but is too texty-linky to really be useful for any music video endeavours beyond that. still, there's stuff there that it would be a real shame to lay to waste (if only for 'net history's sake), which is why it would be nice to find a alternative source for its quiet upkeep.
Can we throw shortsville in that grave as well?
heh, hadn't taken a look at that place in a while - i'd say it's done itself in, pretty much. (nice to see the wayback machine has some snaps of it from when it was still trying to be something.)
The most important videoville function for me was cataloging important antville posts like monthly digests and year-end awards posts. Surely there must be some other cost/labor efficient way to do that right?
