Of all the things to do in the world with all of this money, and after all the interviews with Nicki calling it a movie, THIS is what that money went towards. Or maybe they just used the War of the Worlds set at Universal Studios, instead of building all of this, and it was cheaper than it looks.

Either way, the video is a complete flat line. Can music video directors go to a special rehab so that they'll stop beginning their music videos with 30 seconds-worth of set-up scenes (which won't pay off later), set to reversed room tone turned all the way up and altered to make sucking noises? It's fucking pretentious, trendy, and it doesn't qualify their video as being impressionistic or any more artistic.

Also, the commercial-grade handheld work can go, too. I'd rather watch Mark Gormley in front of PTK's green screen any day over another video of a decrepit environment with the richer-than-God musician shot with handheld cameras.
