Marilyn Manson "Born Villain" - Dir: Shia Laboeuf
NSFW
holy shit! guess it's just all about crossing lines for mr.manson. I'm suprised the kid from transformers directed this.
LEAVE ALEJANDRO ALONE !
^ second that.
^ third that. I'm not sure what Manson is trying to stand for/communicate at this point in his career.....
A lot of horror. No power.
Disagree. I gotta give Shia props. Never thought I would say that.
It's shock, yes, but it's also art. I was entertained, it was great fun.
its well shot but lack concept- alot of disjointed images intended to shock, and shock is fine except when it lacks concept or idea, even the song seems to be more of the same from MM-
this was made during Multimedia class
Giving Witwicky his props. Albeit very reserved.
It does remind of a 90's video ala Alice in Chains, with the opening directly lifted from The Holy Mountain. It must be Manson's influence, not his. Young guys like him and Collin Tilley have a hard time matching A to B, in my opinion.
The guy doesn't have much, and I don't understand what's being communicated. Those doom messages from 90's videos rear their ugly head in less clear fashion. I wasn't shocked, because it's not connected concept wise to absorb.
Still give him props for stretching. Right?

Manson had his day, and he shone brightly while he did. Now he needs to hang it up. Same old story with rock stars.
The real shocking thing I see with this video is that the label let him release it. Any indie artist could (and do) put out NSFW vids, violent vids. Not many mainstream artists on major labels could get away with a vid like this, so kudos for that.
