Im not being condescending, its just that this is the worst trend in music videos maybe of all time. These guys are obviously competent directors, so why not make something original instead of throwing a bunch of memes into a hat and editing them to a kick drum?

What separates this video from any of the other 30 copycats that came out this summer? They're all exactly alike! I've got nothing against the band, song, or directors, I'm just sad to see these completely interchangeable videos become a "thing".

this is too fashionable for my taste but i would say that that go are slightl;y different from other collectives that make meme inspired videos; they have a voice of their own, its not their fault that shit tumblr vids are requested; if they want to win the pitch, they write shit like this. however, once theyll get more gigs youll see them (i can only assume its them and not him) develop into smth more original besides, they can create mood, and yeah
