interesting read i didnt follow this director's work till now, but now that ive seen his canned vide3eo for franz ferdinand ulysses i think they had a good reason to shelve it; the other one by thirtytwoo is sooooooo much better and fits the track and everything thats a very good video
I liked some of this directors early work but I'm really unsure about his output over the last few years, especially when it comes to live action direction.
In reading the interview I admire his firm stance on integrity but I'm also slightly put off by the way he talks about his own creative genius in light of multiple videos being canned, Franz ferdinand, Cut Copy, Sia etc... kind of like it was the musicians fault for not understanding his 'unique vision'.
I like the idea for this rapture video but I don't think it's really pulled off at all. I'm also wondering what took so long for it to be made or released? It was listed on videostatic as in production over 5 months ago? videostatic
