This was such a beautiful video, it literally brought tears to my eyes. I didn't watch it in it's entirety, but definitely video of the year.
Does vevo seem like a contradiction to anyone? Like if videos are treated as product more than advertising, shouldn't the investors get residuals?. That is to say, often the lable's investment in the production is pretty minor.
I don't know Vevo's business model, but 99% of the time if there is an ad in front of an online video, I don't bother watching.
Najork, the labels make money for views on vevo/YouTube. Not a huge percentage, but it adds up when the views get into the millions. A blockbuster video from Chris Brown or Foo Fighters might even make its budget back and turn a profit over time.
