Feist "The Bad in Each Other" - Dir. Martin De Thurah
First world white girl tries to keep it real except her biggest problem is the hipster who wants to make out.
This feels like a really poorly cut trailer for a potentially interesting longform piece. None of it really connected for me. And the fake aspect ratio hurts my eyes. I'm a die-hard De Thurah fan but I'm not loving this one.
Personally, I think it's wonderful. One of his standout pieces. In a way it is a kind of trailer because it hints at a bigger story, which seems to exists elsewhere (and which, rather brilliantly, we'll never get to see) Martin describes it as a poem, which is a far better description.
As a delicate study of people and how they interact with each other I found it very moving and haunting. The lighting and direction are pretty much flawless.
Cool. The decostructed stories in Mexico remember me Inarritu mosaic-movies written by Arriaga
